How our outbound links work

Links to listed projects and advertisers pass through a redirect on our own domain before reaching the destination. The redirect adds campaign parameters so the destination can see that the visit came from us and from which placement.

These links carry rel="nofollow sponsored" and the redirect tells search engines not to index or follow it. They set no cookie on your browser and do not track you across other sites.

What we may earn

We may receive a fee, a referral commission or a flat placement payment when you click through to a partner or advertiser, and in some arrangements when you go on to take an action there such as registering or purchasing.

This costs you nothing extra. Where a commercial relationship exists on a specific listing or article, it is disclosed on that page as well as here.

What it does not change

• It does not change a project's editorial score.
• It does not exempt a project from the checks that get listings rejected.
• It does not stop us pulling a listing if the project turns out to be misleading.
• It does not make a link a recommendation. We earn the same whether the destination turns out well or badly, which is exactly why you should not treat our link as endorsement.

Why we spell this out

Affiliate revenue creates an obvious incentive to send traffic wherever pays most. The only meaningful protection against that is publishing the arrangement, keeping scores separate from it, and being willing to say so when a paying project fails our checks.

If you ever see a listing here that looks like it survived review because of money, tell us and we will look at it.
